Well Woman Care

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists states the importance of Well
woman visits as a yearly checkup. Is an important part of our Women’s Health Program. Focusing on education, counseling, prevention, and others screening exams, that aren’t a part of a regular physical exam. These are Pap smear, Breast Mammogram, Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA scan), and sexual transmitted diseases (STD’s). Because early detection leads to successful treatment.

Taking a comprehensive history on symptoms, past medical and gynecologic history, will inform if certain components of the physical examination, including breast or pelvic examination, are indicated at that visit with shared decision making for these examinations.

Family planning is a very important component of the Well Woman exam for a reproductive-aged patient. Development and discussion of her desired life plan to ensure that medical testing and treatments provided are aligned.
