Daniel Turmero, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician with extensive experience in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. At Woodlands Primary Healthcare in Katy, Texas, he serves as Medical Director, directing clinical operations for a high-volume practice while treating patients of all ages with comprehensive care including preventive medicine, chronic disease management, acute care, and weight management.

Dr. Turmero completed his residency at BronxCare Health System in Bronx, New York, affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident from 2021 to 2024. In this prestigious role, he supervised 53 residents, led Morbidity & Mortality conferences, and achieved top In-Training Examination scores during his PGY-1 and PGY-2 years, demonstrating his unshakable commitment to excellence and leadership in medical education.

Dr. Turmero earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Luis Razetti School of Medicine at Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela in 2012. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at BronxCare Health System in Bronx, New York from 2021 to 2024, where he received comprehensive training in family medicine, emergency care, chronic disease management, and preventive medicine.

During his residency, Dr. Turmero distinguished himself as Chief Resident, a position that showcased his exceptional leadership abilities and clinical expertise. He supervised 53 residents, coordinated complex inpatient and outpatient workflows, and introduced innovative process improvements including advanced hand-off systems and standardized procedural training videos that enhanced patient safety and resident education.

Dr. Turmero is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association. He is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Venezuelan Medical Federation.

As Medical Director of Woodlands Primary Healthcare's Katy location, Dr. Turmero leads with vision and purpose, overseeing quality improvement initiatives and directing clinical operations for 25-30 patients daily. He guides the practice's comprehensive Weight Loss Program serving over 500 patients, oversees outpatient obesity research, and develops evidence-based treatment protocols that deliver cutting-edge care with boundless compassion.

Dr. Turmero's commitment to innovation is evident throughout his career. During his chief residency, he authored an intern orientation guide used across the entire residency program to support onboarding and education. He developed workflow optimization algorithms to streamline patient care and introduced standardized training systems that improved both efficiency and patient outcomes.

His journey in medicine began with hands-on experience in rural Venezuela, where he managed emergency and inpatient care for 40-120 patients daily and led a team of 15 healthcare professionals. This foundation in high-volume, resource-limited settings developed his ability to provide exceptional care under any circumstances, a skill that continues to benefit his patients today.
